Differences in Workplace-Learning According to Age, Experience, Salary and Education in Five Korea-Network Dental Hospitals/Clinics

Abstract
Professional obligation demand a continuous studying in practice and workplace improvements to create a higher quality of care. In this study, we investigated the relationship among general factors (age, experience, salary, education) and workplace-learning for the career commitment. A questionnaire was conducted to 256 dental hygienists at the five Korean-network hospitals from April to June 2011 . The age, experience, salary and education were conducted in requency analysis and the realationship between those and workplace-learning were analyzed by Independent t-test, One-way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis H. From the results, there were the highest in ¡®Under 23 years old¡¯(34.4%), ¡®Under 2 years experiment¡¯(37.5%) and ¡®2¡­3 years college¡¯(78.1%). The workplace learning in network dental hospital was 84.89 scores in total (minimum in 44 and maximum in 120 score). Among the workplace learning, the informal learning was the highest score. In the significance with workplace learning and general factors, the age was the highest and experiment and salary in order. From this study, the age, experiment and salary showed significant results in workplace working and it could be related to career commitment. Although, this questionnaire was conducted only in 5 selected network dental hospitals, the result could be expandable to the other medical institutions.
